In implementing our Vision “to be the leading quality building company that is sought for its innovative design and construction and one that is recognized for using our projects as a means to helping women, the community and the environment” we have expanded our social mission twofold. Firstly we want to mentor women to succeed in the building trades and secondly we aspire to be involved in affordable housing in the community.

As a female-led design and build company, we are committed to getting more women involved in the skilled trades. We believe that they are great assets to the home building industry, especially in the finishing trades. But our vision to accomplish this goes a lot further. Our goal for the next few years is to make their presence on building sites a more common occurrence. With this objective in mind, our mission is to develop educational programs with third parties and provide mentoring/training on our project sites to help women attain their career goals in a mostly male-dominated industry (the skilled trades sector). We hope to open more doors and provide more opportunities for women who strive for a career in the building/finishing trades.

Our other interest is to provide affordable housing on a larger scale, but with something special – innovative design that enables community building. We would like to explore this with financial partners who want to make housing a better place to live. As a training ground the home renovation market has proven to be somewhat unsuccessful, therefore, we are looking for another avenue to provide effective training for women in the finishing trades. We think that combining both aspirations of affordable housing and on-site training would prove to be effective and is our ultimate goal. Two social missions in one application! The ideas are still in the infancy stage, but we have started looking for likeminded partners and would be pleased to meet and talk to anyone with an interest in helping. In the meantime we are happy to help out not-for-profit organizations such as Habitat for Humanity in their goal to providing affordable housing in the community.
